#166 Blue Badger - Steve Labrecque

Tied by: Steve Labrecque
Originated by: Steve Labrecque

Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek Rangeley Streamer hook 8xl #1
Thread: White
Tail: Yellow hackle fibers
Butt: Flat silver tinsel
Body: Yellow floss
Rib: Flat silver tinsel
Belly: White bucktail
Throat: Blue hackle fibers
Underwing: Peacock herl
Wing: 2 blue hackles flanked by badger hackle dyed yellow
Shoulder: Mallard flank dyed yellow
Eyes: Jungle cock nail
Head: Black

Notes: This is a beautiful creation Steve has put together with blue and yellow. The combination of these colors also produces some convincing smelty greens. Steve's recipe calls for golden badger dyed yellow and will produce a bit richer color than a silver badger hackle, but either could be used. To really appreciate the streamer, it should be wet and hanging from the jaw of a bright salmon.

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
