Hi,
There are a few groups dedicated to SWFFing on Facebook but all seem to be American in origin. They seem to be dedicated to Bonefish, Striped Bass and other such sport fish.
Well here in the UK we have our own Bonefish, the Mighty Grey Mullet. Those of you who have been lucky enough to have the privilege of capturing one or more of these beautiful creatures will agree with my description. We also have the Mighty Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) as the tv chefs call them. I prefer just plain BASS!
Other saltwater fish that can give good sport are the other species of Mullet, Scad, Mackerel, Pollack, Garfish and don’t forget the Flatfish species.
All in all our coastal waters are some of the most beautiful areas in the world and whether you manage any piscine surf action with the fly or not it is just great to be out there.
So this group is dedicated to the UK and European SWFFers with a view to banding together and helping each other when we travel to areas away from home.
Please feel free to add yourself and share any pictures and experiences that you feel would be of interest.
