Help for a summer trip, perhaps southern Norway

The forums are very quiet

The Global FlyFisher forum has existed for almost as long as the site, and the oldest posts are more than 20 years old. Forums aren't what they used to be. Social media has taken over a lot of their roles, and the GFF forum is very quiet ... to put it mildly.
We keep everything online for the sake of history, and preserve the posts for as long as possible, but as you will see, quite a few of them aren't in a good shape, but rely on old images hosted elsewhere, which are no longer available, odd codes from old systems and much more, which can't be shown in a decent way.
But the posts are here, and you can - if you insist - start new threads and reply to old ones. But don't stay awake waiting for replies, because they are unfortunately few and far apart.

Hello all. I am new to membership at GFF, but have been sneakily reading your excellent articles and salivating over the beautiful photos for a long while.

A friend of mine and I will be flying to Scandanavia from the United States this summer, likely into Oslo, and tripping down to Copenhagen over 4 or 5 days for a conference. We were wondering if you good people could recommend a fishing locale -- mountains and rivers, preferably, We like the look of the country in the hills of southern Norway from photos and online pages, but first-hand advice would be immensely valuable.

No honey holes, of course. We just need the lay of the land, some good rivers to try, perhaps a good Bed and Breakfast or direction on basic accommodation suitable to two fishing bums with gear and a taste for beer.

Many, many thanks, and feel free to PM as well.

Jon

Since you got this far …

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
