Hello to all,
My name is Andrea and I am a new forum's member.
I live in Italy, in Lunigiana a small rural region in northern Tuscany .
I love fly fishing !
Here in Lunigiana , we are fortunate to have in just a few miles the mountain and the sea , so you can go fishing in both salt water and in many streams of fresh water coming down from the mountains.
The Lunigiana is covered by the system of the Magra River from the mountains of the Apennines , after receiving numerous tributaries , flows into the Ligurian Sea after about 70 km.
In the river you can find a lot of variety of fishes , both freshwater in the upper and middle parts such as trout , chub, barbel , carp , both marine and euraline species in the lower area as seabass , mullet and bluefish.
The Magra river is know throughout Italy as one of the best rivers for the ascent of twaite shad , a anadromous species that responds very well to flies and that goes up the river for several km to breed.
Unfortunately there are also many problems that are now common to all Italian waters ..... but that's another story.
I follow with pleasure the forum publications and I hope to contribute with some beautiful story and beautiful fishing photos.

The forums are very quiet
The Global FlyFisher forum has existed for almost as long as the site, and the oldest posts are more than 20 years old. Forums aren't what they used to be. Social media has taken over a lot of their roles, and the GFF forum is very quiet ... to put it mildly.
We keep everything online for the sake of history, and preserve the posts for as long as possible, but as you will see, quite a few of them aren't in a good shape, but rely on old images hosted elsewhere, which are no longer available, odd codes from old systems and much more, which can't be shown in a decent way.
But the posts are here, and you can - if you insist - start new threads and reply to old ones. But don't stay awake waiting for replies, because they are unfortunately few and far apart.
