German expat and Argentinean outfitter

Heiko and Carolina

I grew up in Germany, close to the mighty river Rhine. During that time the famous salmon runs were long gone, but it was my home water where I lost my fly fishing virginity.

Usually I spent a fairly long time during summer holidays with my motorbike and fly rod above the arctic circle in Norway or Sweden. Years went by and then in the 90's I stuffed my backpack, bought an open 6 month fly ticket, and went to South America.
Ever since then I have only gone back to Europe to work in my "real" profession as a specialist in mechanical equipment and service technician, just long enough to get enough money for my next South America trip.

Things changed. I still brought my backpack to explore the trout waters from Chile's north down to the fireland but now, I rather did it in worn out Chevy's and Econolines…
After living for years in Iceland I finally settled down in Argentine where Carolina, my wife, and I are running Latitud Sur Anglers.
