Prickman's Fly

No comments yet

Continuing with the flies in Roger Woolley's section on West Country and Devon Wet flies with Prickman's Fly.

Hook: 0 or 1 so size 14 is about right.
Body: Dark quill - not sure here what he wants. Stripped peacock quills he has so far stated "peacock" so when he omits that word I am unsure if it is stripped cock stems, "condor" quill or subs...or other.
Hackle and whisks: sooty olive. Not sure is this is a dun leaning olive or truly a "dirty" olive dyed cape.

If you know of any history or other reference to this pattern let me know!

Enjoy!

Since you got this far …

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
