I suppose it must be a salmon/steelhead fly as it is dressed on a #2 double?
A very nice fly.
Whoops !! I just had a look at the hook on Mustad, it is a long shank lure hook.

Malcolm (and/or Joan),
I don't want to sound like a wisecrack, but have you tried typing the book title into Google!? The first link will point you to Amazon that has the book new as well as used, ready to be ordered as easy as...
Martin
If you like old books and used books there is an annual book sale at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center. I think it is in Jan. If you become a member, they send you a list, or you can friend them on Facebook.
I don't know anything about fishing but I think these are very artistic!
Ahoy.
Great new site! Your flies look really nice. I am sure you will be successful.

Wow - this is more Art than anything else.

I would like to buy the book "Tying and Fishing The Riffling Hitch", but cannot find how to order it. Could yo send me info on this, please ?
Martin,
I remember you telling my wife and myself exactly that advice - "do it while you can". So it was a sad day when I heard you were unwell, and we feel for you, think of you and pray for you often. Yet I don't think even MS will hold you back too much, as your article shows. Bless you, my friend, and keep up your inspiring work on the website, as well as your inspiring determination to fish. You are more an example to follow now than you ever were. We'll keep tuning in to read your work and your play.

Thank you Martin!
you are the real diplomat and .... fishing expert. 😄
With kind regards, Alexander.
Martin, I very much appreciate the information you have brought in this site. I too have health issues and echo your exhortation to get out and live now. I am 58 and discovered that our warrantee runs out at 50! We need to stretch out and live while we can. You have enriched my life with your website. Reach out and live to the maximum you can! All the best to you!
How do you make this "set-up"? I guess you have to be to angler or maybe three? The angler, the photographer and a person to pick up the rod if it falls : ) Why???
Anyway, I personally think it looks unnatural and like an advertisement. But it must be fun to see all the work in making one picture like this.
Alexander,
I have been fishing the "old" HMS Scandinavian Saltwater for a long time and like it.
I tried a HM3 and wasn't particularly pleased. The rod is a bit too "fast" for my taste (I call it stiff). The HM+ is an upgrade of the HM2 and HM3, but I haven't tried it, so I have no idea how it is.
You will need to test it yourself and judge it by your own standards.

Good evening colleagues!
Good evening Martin!
I prepare to meeting, Scierra HM+ Fly Rod 9#6 bought.
What say?
With kind regards, Alexander.
I wish well sir, keep your chin up, I had a aunt with MS she lived a full life, not the easiest, she always had a smile, make each day bright and I wish you many, many, many more to come.
Adirondackflytyer,
That's a fly just after my heart! Looks like a very good choppy water pattern. Bomber meets Super Pupa meets Haystack! ;-)
And a nice tie and a fine image too.
Martin
