Freezing a cast line is extremely difficult but what helps is to get the subject against a dark background. If there are dark trees or rocks, position your subject between you and the background. This will sometimes allw you to open the lense one stop which helps so you can increase the speed.
I have a pair of Weinbrenner's and was thinking about replacing the worn out felt with an aquastealth sole. Has anyone done this?
Hi Darryl!
This is a nice fly that I want to try for my local streams here in Denmark!
Does it always land with the orange wing upwards?
Lars
Great wallpapers, can't wait to be part of one in a couple of weeks 😄
Aart,
Interesting way of fishing this fly. Let us know how if the salmon found it stimulating.

Nice fly, may be very usefull in the dutch coastal system for seebass and other fish.. but I will give it a go in the Namsen river, Norway, next month. Any results for this fly more upstream, in the rivers with migrating salmon?
Very helpful. I now know how to clean the cork. I was wondering how to clean it
Sorry to say we do not have a version for the Palm Pilot and there are no plans for making a PP version. I'm proficient at Excel (which LC is created within) and not the Palm OS platform.
trpcr250,
Can you say USD 10-11? As I said: expensive!
Martin
what is that in U.S. dollars $3.00 bucks?
awsome ideas, im just curious though as what u use to finish your reel seats. all i have is conversion varnish. im sure it wont stand up to the elements. i have a rod that i want to put together, but im stuck on the reel seat, can you help me out?
As a keen flytier myself , I always think that when exposing both bars on pheasent tippets tails that the tail looks too long , but as I can see you compensate the body length which tends to bring the tail further down the shank and makes it look more acceptable , I also like your skills when combining three different wing slips as one , trully impressed and overall they are dressed very neat and tidy ......jim
Thank you for an excellent resource. I do have one technical complaint, though. It would be very helpful to us small-screen users if you were to place your cursor at D12 rather than I14 before you protected and saved the spreadsheet. That would enable a much more useful and less confusing view when using the "freeze panes" feature. Thanks, Ron.
Chris, I have a streamer book by Bob Young called New England Streamer. The book is only about 20 pages and was writen before he passed away. I will send you a copy if you do not have one. Please send me your mailing address.
Have been to Fyn serveral times, both for fishing and summer holiday with the kids. Really love the Island. I will post the results of the trip next week. (can't wait, allready dreaming of it) 😄

The first known record of a fishing reels dates from the Sung Dynasty in 12th century China. In a painting by a famous artist of the era, Ma Yuan, an angler with a rod and reel is depicted.

… I have a small favor to ask.
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
