Eighth section: Flies. This is the online version of a book I published back in 2010.
Read about the book in the intro to the series.
Seatrout flies are easy! No big deal. A tan Palmer hackled job on a size 6 hook and you are ready to go fishing. Some dull dubbing and a grizzly rooster feather … maybe some eyes and a bit of flash. Simple as that.
We still tie a lot of different flies, but in my humble opinion it’s rarely the fly that makes the big difference. Finding the fish is much harder than choosing the fly.
But the flies can still be very nice to look at.
Pictures not in the book.
