As a free-lance fly fishing journalist he has written articles for the "Fly Fishing Fly Tying Magazine”, the "Fliegenfischen" journal (Germany’s, Austria’s and Switzerland’s largest fly-fishing journal) and since 2007 he is also a contributor to the Global FlyFisher.
As a former college student to Australia and the United States, he fishes alpine waters throughout the world. His specialties however are the streams and rivers of southern Bavaria and Austria where he spends most of his free time.

“I am virtually field testing the whole year” laughs Tobias.
“I highly respect the traditional parts in our common passion, however no one today, in modern surgery for example, would even think about using the materials from two decades ago. Modern fly casting and fly tying is virtually the same and can surely still be further optimized in their performance with new material compounds.”
Together with his wife and his little daughter Nelli, Tobias lives in southern Germany near the city of Regensburg.
