#137 Copper Head - Joel Stansbury

Tied by: Joel Stansbury
Originated by: Joel Stansbury

Hook: Partridge CS15
Thread: White
Body: White floss
Rib: Silver flat mylar tinsel
Belly: White bucktail
Throat: White hackle fibers
Underwing: Mixed white and yellow bucktail
Wing: Olive hackle flanked by silver badger hackle
Shoulder: Copper pheasant
Eyes: Jungle cock
Head: Black

Notes: A stunning smelt pattern with a touch of glamour thrown in. The copper pheasant used in the shoulder casts some amazing iridescent bronze and coppers, adding some shine to the otherwise subdued pattern. The underwing helps to give some bulk to the head, and when the streamer gets damp, you might think Joel netted this one out of the creek. Another great Joel Stansbury pattern, I really wish we had more of them to share.

Long story short

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
