Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek 8xl #2
Thread: Black 6/0
Tail: Golden pheasant crest
Body: Flat gold tinsel
Throat: Orange schlappen
Wing: 2 black hackles flanked by brown hackle
Shoulder: Bronze mallard
Eye: Jungle cock (optional)
Head: Black
Notes: This is a conversion of the classic wet fly as described in Ray Bergman's "Trout". The Golden Demon has some of the deepest roots of any flies with popularity branching to both North American coasts, Europe and Australia during the early 20th century via the likes of the infamous Zane Grey. The pattern features an earthy mix of brown, black, orange and a flashy vein of gold. In the tradition of the original wet fly, we hope to see this streamer also take on the like of Atlantic salmon, brook trout, steelhead and coastal cutthroat who have storied the pattern's past.
