Body: Tan floss
Rib: Silver Mylar tinsel, size 10
Throat: Black hackle
Wing: Two tan saddle hackles flanked by two white saddle hackles
Shoulder: Argus Pheasant wing covert ( 3/4 hook legnth )

Notes: First commissioned in 1972 for Miss Eugenia ( Ena ) Martell for her trip to Grand Lake Stream, Maine. Ena provided David with the Argus wing coverts from birds that she raised and were the only feather that she requested be incorporated into the design. The stem was carefully crushed to allow it to move more freely when wet. Davids creation proved to be a great streamer for the land locked salmon that Grand Lake Stream is famous for.
David says:
I was fortunate to be at the camp during the same summer season and we caught beautiful fish every day using this basic brown/tan design along with wings of pale yellow, lemon yellow, celery, olive and dark green.
To substitute for the Argus used in the pattern, a natural guinea fowl feather with brown marker (paint) over the white dots may be used.
