Body: Flat silver tinsel
Ribbing: Fine oval silver tinsel
Throat: Yellow hackle
Wing: 4 ginger badger or furnace hackles
Shoulder: 2 sections of married goose or swan yellow, blue then red. Should be thin and extend about 2/3 the wing length.
Eye: Jungle cock nail

Notes: The Lord Iris is one of the flies originated by Preston Jennings to immitate the colors of minnows as they appear by the breaking down of light passing through a prism. The married wing and tail make this a distinctive pattern and a challenging streamer to tie for the neophyte. It's clear, judging by the Patent submitted by Mr. Jennings that he took a serious scientific approach to creating his streamer designs.
Except from Streamer Fly Tying & Fishing by Joseph D. Bates Jr.
This fly is one of those originated by Mr. Preston Jennings, of Brooklyn, New York, supposedly to imitate the colors of minnows as they appear by the breaking down of light passing through a prism.
