Milkfish

Milkfish are one of those fish that you have to catch on fly. A few years ago we discovered a worm hatch that had the Milkfish and Permit taking them off the surface, since then we have had several trip were lots of Milkfish and other fish have been caught during this hatch. This is only a small look at some of the great footage i have taken.

Ron, I'm almost 1...

Ron,

I'm almost 100% sure that the worm you see in the video is a real worm, not a fly. That's probably why it's so realistic. I see no artificial flies in the video at all.

I would like the pat...

I would like the pattern for the worm fly that was used in the Milkfish video if at all possible. It looked extremely realistic and I think the striped bass here in the NE would love to see it. Ron

Using a real worm and not a fly!!...

Hi mate I am the person that filmed this and guided the angler to lots of milkfish. I can guarantee that we were using flies if you look up my YouTube account there is another clip with the flies we use. I know that you have the right to comment but you could of also emailed me to ask.

Worms and flies...

Shannon,

I didn't say that you didn't fish flies!

I wrote: "I'm almost 100% sure that the worm you see in the video is a real worm, not a fly.". I was referring to the worm seen swimming in the video. You can see the frame with the worm below.

Is that a fly? If so, I'd love to have the pattern like Ron, because that's the most convincing worm imitation I have seen.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
