If you need an effective fly in your box for trout and graylings, this nymph is a great choice. Trout consume a very large part of their food at the bottom and to be able to fish effectively, a heavy fly is required, and that is exactly what Copper John is.
Originally, it was designed to get down quickly through the water column and down to where the fish are most often, and with a slim profile and weight from both copper wire, lead wire and a brass-bead, it does the job excellently.
In this video, we have Casper Hansen behind the tyingvise and demonstrate his version, which he has successfully used not only for trout and grayling, but also for the very large sea run brown trouts in Argentina.
