The annual Bornholm highlight is getting closer

So it's that week of the year: the week that ends with a trip on the night ferry to Danish island Bornholm for our annual week long fishing trip.

This event has now been a tradition for five or six years, and I don't think any of us will drop it right away. We usually start looking forward already in October to this week in March. GFF partner Steve has been on the trip a couple of times, but had to cancel this year.

Most anglers, who take such an annually recurring trip with good friends, will recognize the feeling: shopping new gear, piling up the stuff you need to bring, stocking plenty food supplies, booking house and tickets, making arrangements. All of it with a nice feeling of preparing for something that it a real treat: a trip with 100 percent focus on fishing.

We fish, eat, relax and have an extremely nice time for a whole week. The fishing is usually good, but as it is early spring we are prepared for some lousy weather and some hard winds. They always seem to come, and this year is no exception. The weather forecast says hard western winds and heavy rain at least the first two or three days.

Well, with a bit of luck we'll have springtime weather as the week develops, and once again be able to enjoy lunch outdoors every day, drink lots of coffe with Danish cake on the side and catch plenty fish to satisfy us all.

I keep my fingers crossed.
