| Hook | Partridge John Holden (GRS S4) size 8 |
| Thread | Black |
| Tail | Black Arctic (AKA Polar) fox, approx. shank length |
| Body | Black Arctic fox dubbing |
| Wing | Black Artic fox, shorter than tail |
| Head/ collar |
Natural deer hair |
- Pluck the underfur out of a small bunch of Arctic fox. Save the wool for dubbing
- Tie in the tail on top of the shank over the hook bend
- Dub the shank to approx. mid shank
- Tie in wing on top of the shank. It should almost reach the tip of the tail
- Prepare a small bunch of natural deer hair, thickness less than a pencil, by removing underfur
- Stack the deer hair in a hair stacker
- Tie it in as a deer hair collar with the tips reaching just beyond mid shank
- Add one or two more bunches to form the head
- Whip finish and varnish
- Trim the deer hair
