The original wet fly, is most often seen dressed with jungle cock cheeks & a seals fur body as well as several other differences. The cheeks were thought to have added to it's "killing" abilities by quite a bit in most cases. I don't know if it would make a difference on this version though.

Thanks for the extra insight. I was thinking it would look cool with some JC in the eye.

Bent,
I have no idea why the videos aren't showing. I have IE10 and it's working nicely here. Most of the videos need Adobe Flash to work, and you need to have that installed and working to watch them. If you go to this page you can see if Flash is working and what version you have.

Hi
I have internet Explorer 10, but when I download a video I can not see it - perhaps you can explain it for me.

Gary, One of the prettiest flies I have ever seen. I am unfamiliar with the pattern & the originator, but will definitely read up on Mr. Baird. A fabulous fly tied perfectly!

Thanks folks. This fly is always a top producer for me every year... I also can not thank Reg enough for donating one of his books to go along with this fly. I hope someone really enjoys it when it goes up for auction...

Euan you are in the best stages of fly tying, do not get upset if you can't find the vice in the dvd. I use a Resenti traveler as does my grandson. A very nice vice which I highly recommend. The vice is a true rotory vice and there is nothing you can not do with it. If you have any further problems please feel free to contact me at hjackson@loyola.edu. Please enjoy what you have decided to get involed in, it is very rewarding.

Realistic flies are very rewarding in a personal way. Not all flies are for overboard. I do ty flys to fish with but I tend to gravitate towards the realistic flys. I have magnifying cubes that I stare at a real insect for hours. I do respect what all fly tyers do, but the art of fly tying to me is very rewarding. I would like to be able to ty one of my flys one day, put it on a flower and have a real bug try to mate with it. As said, it takes too long and you don't want to fish it. This is a sport in which you want to enjoy, thank you.

Glenn, can I get you to produce a Winnipesaukee Queen and a Canopache for me? I'm looking to box frame them for a gift for my father in law who owns the Canopache Lodge in Wolfeboro, NH
