If only putting your hook size that does not tell us enough. Would like the hook lengths as well...1X, 2X, 3X etc.

You'll find it in northern brazil too! Very sportish fish!! Beautyfull video!
Anonymous,
It requires very little force to split bamboo and can be done with a knife and maybe a small hammer or wooden mallet. No force needed.

Jamie-
Thanks for taking the time to respond...I'm pleasantly surprised that you took the time to do so. Forgive the lateness of my reply, as I have just now realized that you posted this here. I look forward to future films from your crew.
FYI, location X was my favorite of your works so far. :-)
enjoyed watching this video, makes want to get back into tying my own flies again. Thanks
This is a nicely written story of persistance when confronted with results not in accordance with one's aim. My wife likes to say: When you don't get what you want, you call it experience!
In a broader vein, fishing success is related to temperament in many ways, but a true fisher-person, whether they are successfully catching or not, has the character that this story reflects.

Penguin your mind must be around the bend :) Those flies of yours are phantastic keep them coming cause I can use the ideas
David,
I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll give it a shot anyway. The line comes out of the reel in such a way that it can easily pass through the guides on the rod. When the reel is mounted on the rod and you hold the rod correctly with the reel downwards, the line should come out of the reel on the underside in a forward direction. As you can see on this image.
Hope I understand your question and that this helps
Martin
Im being a bit of an idiot, but which part of the reel does the line come out of in regards to right angled underneath the reel. behind or in front?
There is one on Ebay right now... can be yours for the not so low price of $75. Maybe a bit expensive...
I just found this site. Great information that I was able to share with someone on another forum looking to build his own tying bench. After reading the article, I've decided to build one to replace the disaster I created before finding the GFF Site.

I have become a fan of the classic wet patterns, and have begun to tie some. Until reading your comments with each pattern describing how this or that catches fish, I was tying for display only. Having tied more than one of each pattern, I'm going to try them out on North Carolina mountain trout. Thanks for the great photos and encouraging remarks.
Our local Senior Center (55 Plus) has a fly tying club. We tie flies, swap recipes & materials, tell fishing stories, and offer emotional support for "losses". Recently, a member had a stroke, he wants to continue to tie and fish. But he only has full function in (of course) his left hand. Are there any suggestions for tying flies one-handed? Fly Fishing one-handed? Thanks.
Hi Pengui,
watching your work for while and let me tell y, y really are one of the most talented flytier Ive ever seen... Those patterns are really outstandig, combinations of techniques incredible!!! Some of your patterns made my last summer on MV, stripers loved them... Thanks again.. :)
You are being ripped off. A simple battery cautery costs $7. to $9 each. However, because they are medical devices they must be sold as single use disposable. Therefore, the prices you are seeing are for a box of 10! So get some of your good ole boys together a pony up. By the way, they are also excellent for removing ticks from dogs
Would you sell any of your SLS shrimp? I am NOT a tier at all but would love to try them on Bone fish when I go to Honduras this summer.
I do not think CO2 is merciful at all; why don't you use CO, carbon monoxide? Easier than obtaining argon, helium, etc!
Haven't you heard of people dying in their sleep from leaving their charcoal in the house or from being in a car with an exhaust leak? Well, that's carbon MONoxide, not DIoxide and if it wasn't merciful, they'd wake up. Haven't you heard of some people even going into their garage to use that way to commit suicide?
I am very surprised you haven't paid more attention to your chickens' behavior as you force them to stay in the can. Even if it's true there's only a "death purr", and no squirming or other behavior you neither see nor hear, this is more than must be with carbon monoxide.
bill davis i have some of berts streamers.contact me if you are still interested.
… I have a small favor to ask.
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
