Hi Bob, Your web page is outstanding and it shows all the places I fish on the Beaverkill and area rivers and streams. I caught my first trout on the Beaverkill standing on Piano Rock at Hendrickson Pool .This area I was the person that developed the newer version of the Thorax Dry Fly that is the most popular tied these days and during this time I develope Overton's Wonder Wax .. I now live in Libby, Montana that is much like the Roscoe area .

You can find tubes a

You can find tubes and tube kits at most fly tying shops, you can use q-tips, the ones with the hollow plastic tubes, or you can use tubing (plastic or metal) found at hobby stores. Most common sizes to use for tube flies are 1/8" or 3/32" OD (outside diameter). If you are using a metal tube, you will have to line it with a hollow plastic tube to prevent cutting your leader.

have used this type

have used this type of fly for years and have learned a couple of tricks beginners can use.
use different colors of foam from the craft stores grip any sheet in your vice, needle nose pliers, any device that will hold foam and trim around with a razor you got a ready made body or wing. the way you tie this to the hook allowes you to make a fly with a conventional hackle or to wrap your hackle between the hook and the foam and you have a para application. something with a long taper; long may fly bodies.

I have a Simms G3 Gu

I have a Simms G3 Guide Jacket that I bought for US$399 and it is NOT WATERPROOF! It is fine under a little rain but I have been wearing it her in Oregon and after one hour or more in heavy rain it is wet EVERYWHERE. All the pockets are wet inside. My phone is wet, camera is wet, fly boxes wet. Not waterproof. I went back to the shop I bought it at was told that that is all the protection that should be expected from Simms jackets and that they are not to be considered totally waterproof. Very discouraging.

Thanks! I was actually quite happy with it myself. I was drying up after having been under and had some time to spend while the others fished on. I fooled around with the "reel on car roof" theme and this was just one of th quite good pictures that came from that.
