Merry Christmas

Sitting there with the smell of Christmas in the nose and Christmas music in the ears, Martin has been thinking back on the year that passed, and wishes to say Merry Christmas to all the GFF readers with a small gallery from the year that passed.

Sitting here with the smell of Christmas food in the nose and the sound of Christmas music in the ears, I have been thinking back on the year that passed, and wish to say Merry Christmas to all the GFF readers with a small gallery from 2007.

Having had the most dull and gray December I can remember I just wanted to reassure myself that the sun actually does shine sometimes and that fish can be caught.

Cool, clear water - Springtime on the coast
Spring - Flowers in the spring forrest
Spring sky - A nice sky, a nice cliff and some nice water

When the spring is peaking, I try to go out as often as I can. It's just such a recharge after a long and often dark winter.

Garfish fun - These fish entertain on end in May in Denmark
One of those days - This is one of some 10-12 fish I managed to haul out of the same little hole on a single trip
A well-deserved break - Just relaxing
Rapseed field - The colors of spring in Denmark
The Danish coast - My favorite hunting ground

As summer gets closer, fishing early in the morning and into the dark becomes an option - and can be very productive.

Pastel colors - What a sky!
Summer night - The beauty of the sky is one of the bonuses of fishing the Danish summer night
Sun setting - Angler angling
Angler in the mist - This German guy kept on catching fish on this beautiful morning
Morning and evening

Late summer and early autumn this year meant mullet and salmon for me. The mullets were few here, but we managed to hook many and land a few, and I returned to Iceland to fish for salmon.

Icelandic salmon - I got my first one.. and the second... and many, meny more this year
My first mullet - At long last I landed one. I have been trying for years
Beaten shadow - A Sunray Shadow torn apart by salmon
Happy Henning - Henning managed to land a mullet too - and on the same trip
Ytri Rangá - The sun goes down over one of Icelands prime salmon waters
Mullet and salmon
Martin Joergensen - Johannes Hinriksson - Nils Folmer Jørgensen

But autum on the Danish coast reminds me why I love to fish here. The grass may seem greener on the other side of the hedge, but fishing back home sure is nice!

Translucent - The exquisite translucency of the tail on a fresh sea trout
The arc - Another sea trout bends the rod
The reason - Why I love the coastal fishing
Splash - A rainbow fighting in the shallow water
Releasing - A large rainbow about to swim off again
Too perfect - Fishing over the bottom of my wet dreams
The Danish coast
Martin Joergensen

And the dog, the gear, the Summit and all that Jazz.

Oops! - This year has already cost me one cell phone and a couple of cameras
My dog - Divus the Shetland Sheepdog has become my companion on almost every trip I'm on. He loves fishing!
Ready to go - The rod waiting for a fly and some water
Gear - Rods ready on the Global FlyFisher Summit - one of the highlights of the year
On guard - Divus guarding the angler and patiently awaiting some action
Group shot - All participants at the GFF Summit 2007
The dog, the gear, the company

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
