Black PT with Pink Ribbing

No comments yet

When autumn arrives and the water cools down, grayling and trout often react best to flies tied in darker shades with a subtle touch of color.
But the combination of black with pink or orange has always been one of my most effective choices during this season (when I want to induce the fish attack, this combination of color is very stimulating for grayling).
Tying tips: -A few things to take into considerations:
-From my own experience, curved hooks create a more natural and efficient profile compared to straight-shank ones, giving the fly that little extra “life” in the current.
-For best results, I recommend tying these nymphs small — size 16 or even down to 18.
-To add durability, make the ribbing with both tinsel and wire — apply the wire over the tinsel. In this case I preferred to use uv pearl pink borealis tinsel with red wire to create an extra contrast.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
