House builder caddis larva
This pattern imitates the larval stage of the house building caddis fly, and is one of the most important foods for trout and grayling, especially during the late autumn and winter. These insects build a mobile home from twigs, vegetation and gravel and just about anything else that is readily available, to protect their soft vulnerable bodies.
