Maxwell's Red and Blue

These are the last two flies in Roger Woolley's section on Devon Wet flies - The Maxwells!

Red:
Hackle and Whisks - Red cock
Body- Hare flax
Rib - Gold wire

Blue:
Hackle and Whisks - Medium to dark dun cock
Body - Hare flax
Rib - Silver wire

I hope you have enjoyed this series. For these two flies I tie them a bit more to mimic the picture in William's Dictionary of Trout Flies that shows Powell's version of the Doctor which Williams states is based off the Devonshire Doctor - a popular pattern of the time.
