Recharged on Bowmanville Creek
It’s been a long week and in order to get right, I thought it would be a good idea to get out on the water and perhaps if the fish co-operated, break my skunking from the last outing.
Brownline Nymph
This Nymph has been developed for a creek I fish a few times a year but works well on most of the small streams I hit in the GTA.
Skunked on Oshawa Creek
I finally got a couple hours to fish my home water. This is a short one as the fishing was slow, but I like to write a journal entry every time I get on the water.
Fox's Caddis Poopah
The Fox's Caddis Poopah is a fly designed by fly tyer and angler Tim Fox sometime in the early 1990's for catching trout on the lower Sacramento River.
CDC & Elk Variant
One of my favorite creek flies for trout is the CDC & Elk. This is one of my most productive variations on Hans Weilenmann's infamous original.
Magic Midge
The Magic Midge is a fly pattern from southern Alberta fly tyer, Brent Schlenker. Brent fishes some of Alberta's best stillwater ponds and this midge will find some real slabs of pothole rainbow.
Yellow Sally (Isoperla) Stonefly
I've been busy tying a few dry flies for my small creek fly box and these Yellow Sally flies are great for covering the Isoperla that hatch late April - August.
Pass Lake Special
The Pass Lake Special is an old soul with fuzzy origins. Claim for its genesis comes from Labrador, Washington and the most popular from Wisconsin.
Pink Squirrel Nymph AKA The Persuader
The Pink Squirrel Nymph or as it may also be known, the Persuader is a fly pattern designed by John Bethke of Westby, Wisconsin.
Holo Midge
This simple little midge fly pattern can be tied in a number of colors. My top colors are the black/purple, red and orange.
Squirmy Estaz Egg
I've been tying a ton of Squirmy Wormy flies over the past year or so and I usually end up with a little tag of leftover material for every fly I tie.
Rubber-Legged Evil Weevil
The Evil Weevil is a killer fly for trout and panfish. It's a fly I've been using for over a decade on the streams and rivers I fish and it's been an absolute killer fly pattern.
Flash Bugger
This Flash Bugger is a simple little bright fly for targetting pond species like perch, rock bass, crappie, bluegill, pumpkinseed, and trout.
Copper John
Check out the Copper John in action in Mike's Laurel Hill & Casselman Video - https://youtu.be/lwWQo6AWNHI
Marabou Leech
I like fishing leeches in the spring just after ice comes off the lakes and ponds. I like to use this as a casting pattern or a trolling fly, but it also works well when dead drifted under a strike in...
BHSHPID Nymph
The BHSHPID Nymph is a fly pattern designed by Central Pennsylvania fly tyer and angler, Richard Tate.
Bead Head Prince Nymph
Check out the Bead Head Prince Nymph in action in Mike's Patuxent River Video - https://youtu.be/9G_3WqEVH7o
Dry Pheasant Tail
The Dry Pheasant Tail Variant is one of the required fly patterns for the IFFF Bronze Level Fly Tying Skills Awards Program.
Liggett Special Bucktail
I first saw this fly pattern years ago while reading an article on Global Fly Fisher written by Mike Martinek.
Rusty Oliver Emerger
Spring is fast approaching and I have begun to fill some gaps in my emerger and dry fly box. This pattern has done quite well in 2017 and I anticipate continued success in 2018.
Mags' Clouser Minnow
Years ago, my cat Mags, got under my feet and I ended up stepping on the hair of his tail. A big chunk of hair was left behind, pretty much even tipped, and so I figured I would put it to good use. I ...

Brass Zebra
The Brass Zebra is a mash-up of 2 popular trout flies. The Brassie and the Zebra Midge. This design is credited to Dan Liechty, but there are some other similar flies out in the world.

Yes, this is a trick question and easy to answer - it's g!
We ask it because spam bots are too stupid to answer correctly, while humans are not.
