Moustique "Devaux"

No comments yet

Here is a CDC version of Devaux famous style of dry flies.

Aime Devaux was a very famous French angler and professional fly tier who tied his hackled dry flies with two hackles densely tied and the second hackle slanted forward through the first by the body building and the whip finish know behind the hackles.

This style of dry fly was known as an Umbrella as it looks like an umbrella flipped over by the wind. Devaux believed this helped float the fly better.

Here it is tied in that style with CDC.

Hackle: Two tan CDC feathers and one partridge feather.
Tail: russet/red cock
Body: red thread with yellow silk rib.

You can create your own color combinations and vary the hook size.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
