I bought Hardy Demon a couple of months before and I am very satisfied. I have tested the reel 3x in Denmark in saltwater. The reel works well and looks well too :-)
The extra spool costs only 10 GBP.
The changing of spool is very sophisticated.
The only disadvantage is the price. The reel with two extra spools cost over 200 GBP and it is more than for other casatte reels.
BTW: On www.garryevans.co.uk you can buy Scierra EDP with extra spool only for 40 GBP.

I've been tying a little over 2 years ago, and graduated from a whip-finish tool to my fingers. I DO use one method or the other depending on what I'm tying(ie those #18 drys where my material was just a wee bit closer to the hook eye than intended.
In the united states we call this fly a wooly worm,one of the first flies I learned to tye " holds a warm spot in my heart",caught a lot of different species of fish on every color you can think of,My first stellie was caught on a # 10 pink wooly worm with a red tail over 20 years ago, good to see the simple flies still catch fish,I use everything from flash chenille,cotton chenille,dubbing,and yarn for the body to yarn or hackle fibers for the tail weighted or not you can't go wrong with a wooly worm,add a marabou tail a "wala" wooly bugger how simple is that.
But,i'd like to know the hole measurements,anybody has idea of them?Jan-Ole?

There are no set measurements for the holes. Take the stuff you want to have handy - bobbin holders, scissors, needles, stackers, bottles and whatnot - and a ruler and measure them, and drill holes slightly bigger than the diameters of your tools and containers. Generally bobbin holders and needles fit in small holes - maybe 5 millimeters or 1/5th of en inch - and scissors and the like fit in medium holes - maybe 10 millimeters or about 2/5th of an inch, but it's not really critical.

Fly-tying has never been my cup of tea.
While I admire and give full credit to anyone that can tie life like patterns, I am sure the pattern would still work if you finished at step 4.

The hand wip-finish has always been a bit of a problem for most tiers. Myself at one time, all I used was a half hitch tool and it worked fine, as you know three wraps on a half hitch tool and you've done a whip finish. Now I'm using the Matarelli whip finish tool, took me a while to get used to it, and now its all I ever use.. Your video is very good, and should help those that want to do the hand whip..

I have one of these IC3 reels, funny creatures... I like the cassette idea (I had one from Leeda/Dragonfly before), but unfortunately the craftsmanship on the Scierra reels isn't really top notch, but then again the price is quite reasonable...
Despite this I use my IC3 reel for most of my coastal fishing.
And now to the funny part...
I had similar problems with getting the cassettes off, perhaps not 20 minutes of wrestling, but long enough. Then I took my gear with me on a plane to Norway, where I did a bit of fishing on the south coast. Then, when I was about to change lines, to my amazement the cassette came off without any effort (almost causing me to drop it into the water). When I tried the other two I had with me they where the same. I don't know why...
Apart from this I had one defect cassette, where some air had gotten trapped during molding. I complained and got two new ones instead.
Taking the plane to Norway (or somewhere else) is probably a bit too expensive in order to fix your reel, so I guess going back to the dealer is your best bet.

Thanks, It is the same with all cassettes , have cleaned all parts over and over, but it makes no difference.
I will go to my dealer and watch him try to get the cassette off....

It should come off easily, and almost "drop" off as far as I understand. I have only handled the reel a couple of times, but looking at the image on Scierra's web page http://www.scierra.com/?product=20 it seems like you loosen the spool part from the housing and simply drop off the cassette.
Are the surfaces clean and free of scratches etc.? If there's something stuck between the spool part and the cassette and the fit is tight, you might have the problem there. Is it the same with all cassettes? You might have a flaw in a single one. If not the spool might be out of shape. It is plastic (or at least a compound) after all.
Apart from that it's back to the dealer and complain...

I am an amateur fly tyer. I have used feathers but never of a Wood Duck. I recently found a Wood Duck killed by a predatory animal. Thank you for I hope to put your methods upon tying to use to make flies of higher standard to catch fish better. Very efficient site!!!

Let me answer a few questions at once here...
Chenille Body: of course you can use chenille...nothing wrong with that. I prefer some sparkle to attract the fish's attention, hence why I use dubbing, but sparkly chenille would do the trick as well...good thinking.
Alligator clip holders: Search for "note clip holder" and plenty of links come up. An idea: contact one of the corporate promotional vendors and ask for any excess or mistake printed items.
