The Japanese fly tyer Kenichiro Sawade is not known to be afraid of colors. He is an extremely crative tyer, whose flies always sparkle with color and beautiful materials and proportions. In his book "Tube & waddington Fly Dressing" he shows patter descriptions for new and classical flies tied on tubes and waddington shanks.

A test in the print magazine Fly Fisherman showed the Trilene and the Orvis knot to be equally strong and on top of that said that they were able to maintain 100% of the line strength. I really have my doubt if that will hold for all types and thicknesses of line, but still it does prove that these could be the knots of choice for the concerned fly fisher.
Fly Fishers are the original "green" advocates. We are active in conservation. We advocate catch-n-release. We support stocking programs. We even save the lives of bait(!) But there's more we can do.
