Italian School CDC One Feather Flies

Hello all. I am going to talk about a group of One Feather Flies (OFF) using CDC and part of a group of patterns and from Italian tiers.

The first to look at is Agostino Roncallo's "Mirage" which seems to be a CDC variation and spin off from the Darbee 2 Feather...although I am not sure if Roncallo knew the pattern or not. Both the Two Feather and the OFF Mirage are great flies to look at to examine some of the ideas and techniques that are behind the OFF CDC patterns from Italy.

I will then tie the Arpo credited to Angelo Rosorani. I will tie it the way I understand it was first tied. Of course the Arpo has a life of its own now as so many great patterns do and it has a bunch of different methods for tying it. I'll explore the dubbing loop CDC method as well.

Small light wire hooks
CDC - color or your choice
Tying thread - color and material of your choice.

Enjoy!

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
