The Dynamite Harry Pale Morning Dun is a simple yet highly effective dry fly designed to imitate the Pale Morning Dun (PMD), one of the most important mayfly hatches found on rivers throughout the world. During a good PMD hatch, trout can become extremely selective, making a well-presented, naturally floating imitation essential.
Tied on small hooks in sizes 18 and 20, this pattern has a slim profile, a lightly dubbed thorax, and a quality dry fly hackle that allows it to sit perfectly on the surface. Although designed as a PMD imitation, it can also be used whenever trout are feeding on small pale mayflies, making it a useful pattern to keep in your fly box throughout the season.
