Flatwater Pale Ginger

One of Harry Darbee's "deadly dozen" is this flatwater dry fly pattern. Originally part of his first add in Field & Stream to sell flies and part of what he called his "Mid-Summer Series" of flies for when water levels are low mid-summer and there is a lot of "flatwater".

A very light fly and all waterproof material where a few false casts will dry off the fly.

Hook: light dry fly
Wings: Cock hackle tip wings pale ginger
Body: pale ginger cock hackle palmered from tail to head over some wet head cement.
Tail: pale ginger spade cock hackle fibers.
