The massive stonefly hatches from the US, especially Montana, are well known – both by the flyfisher and the trout. And seeing the shucks from them it’s no wonder that they can bring even the biggest trout to the surface. Depending on where you live, stonefly imitations can be a must-to-have in the box or a nice-to-have. In Montana it is a must have, in Scandinavia, nice-to-have. The Yellow Sally is a beautiful, medium sized stonefly and like it’s contemporary mayfly a beautiful yellow color. In this video we have had the skilled flytyer and flyfisher Henry Ramsay in the studio to demonstrate his all-time favorite pattern the Little Yellow Stonefly (Isoperla Bilineata).
