I spent the last few weeks tying up a handful of crayfish patterns… and finally got them out on the water to see how they actually perform.
Safe to say—they work.
In this video, I take a few of the flies from my recent tying series out for a full day of fishing, targeting bass in some shallow cover, deeper ledges, and tight river spots. From the Crawl Daddy to the Near Nuff Crawfish, this was all about seeing how these patterns move, fish, and ultimately—catch.
One of the highlights of the day was hooking the same bass twice on the same fly within about ten minutes. That alone says a lot about how effective these crayfish patterns can be.
