Fishing provides that connection with the whole living world. It gives you the opportunity of being totally immersed, turning back into yourself in a good way. A form of meditation, some form of communion with levels of yourself that are deeper than the ordinary self.

"There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home." Roderick Haig-Brown

May you have many more days ahead of not "just staying home"! Get well!

Cheers! By a stranger:

I hope you are feeling better and have a speedy recovery.

I lived in Idaho for a couple of years while my son was a very "active" teenager. Getting out on the river was the only thing that kept me from wringing his neck. He's now in college and it is probably safe to say that he was saved by the trout.

Since you got this far …

A money box
The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
