Once & Away

No comments yet

CDC Pattern from Hans van Klinken. This is a great CDC pattern in the mode of the Klinkhamer Special.

Hook: Curved hook Klinkhamer style 18-12.
Body: peccary hair
Thorax: peacock herl 3-4 depending on hook size
Wing Case/thorax cover/Wing: 3-4 CDC feathers color up to you.

Great fly and very much like a parachute. Hans recommends using the wind to your advantage to add life to the fly or on still water to drift it into a feeding lane in a very natural way.

While the name "Once and Away" came about because at first Hans had to switch flies after catching a fish because his original design made it difficult to bring the fly back to dry. He eventually figured it out and that detail of the design is key and explained in the video. Pay attention! :)

Thanks and Enjoy!

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
