It has not gone so well with the queen of salmon rivers, Lærdalselv, in the recent years. Declining salmon stocks and the parasite gyro has taken their toll on the king's ancient river. The table is set for Bard and Lars, who are really just going to confirm how bad the fishing has actually been. To their great surprise they hook one fish after the other and spend some memorable days in the small fruit village with the pleasant locals and the world famous Kurt.
