6th Annual Italian Bamboo Rodmakers Gathering

The forums are very quiet

The Global FlyFisher forum has existed for almost as long as the site, and the oldest posts are more than 20 years old. Forums aren't what they used to be. Social media has taken over a lot of their roles, and the GFF form is very quiet ... to put it mildly.
We keep everything online for the sake of history, and preserve the posts for as long as possible, but as you will see, quite a few of them aren't in a good shape, but rely on old images hosted elsewhere, which are no longer available, odd codes from old systems and much more, which can't be shown in a decent way.
But the posts are here, and you can - if you insist - start new threads. But don't stay awake waiting for replies, because they are unfortunately few and far apart.

Dear Friends,

I'd like to announce that this May between 21st and 23 the Italian Bamboo Rodmakers Association will be holding the 6th annual rodmakers gathering in Sansepolcro (Arezzo Italy). This even is becoming very important in the European rodmaking world with important guest from the States and Europe.

The programme of events and seminars will be posted soon on our website www.rodmakers.it. As a small anticipation we will have a very special guest this year Per Brandin who has kindly accepted our invitation. There will a whole lot of rodmakers from the whole of Europe. An excellent occasion to meet up and find out what's happening this side of the pond!!

On Friday 21st May, we will have the traditional Bamboo Only Day - during which fishing on our Tevere Tailwaters will be allowed only with bamboo rods. This gives us all an opportunity to try out rods by other rodmakers and above all is give the non bamboo fisherman the opportunity of trying his hand with bamboo. The Bamboo Only day has created a whole stack of converts!!
