A Global Site: You make it!

The forums are very quiet

The Global FlyFisher forum has existed for almost as long as the site, and the oldest posts are more than 20 years old. Forums aren't what they used to be. Social media has taken over a lot of their roles, and the GFF form is very quiet ... to put it mildly.
We keep everything online for the sake of history, and preserve the posts for as long as possible, but as you will see, quite a few of them aren't in a good shape, but rely on old images hosted elsewhere, which are no longer available, odd codes from old systems and much more, which can't be shown in a decent way.
But the posts are here, and you can - if you insist - start new threads. But don't stay awake waiting for replies, because they are unfortunately few and far apart.

Martin, Steve, Bob, Bob and Kasper,

You made it! This is truly "The Global Fly Fisher's Site".

Just see any topic on the forums which has more than 5 posts, it is usually threaded by people of, at least, two or three continents. Watch the Galleries, pictures from all over the planet.

It is not just the community registered (Frequent posters from places like Denmark, Canada, Italy, Iceland, New Zeland, USA, Norway or Colombia), I'm sure your visitors are from many places more.

GFF has an "European touch" but it is much more universal than any other site. That is something attractive for a fly fisherman like me, living in Colombia, or for anybody who lives outside of North America where almost all the fly fishing websites are made.

Everything on GFF site is really well made. Yours is the best website.

I just can tell you the moment to jump overseas to other people may be right now. Keeping all what GFF is, of course, you don't have to change anything. May be promoting more these forums or joining people from other places. New Zeland, Argentina, Chile, and many other places have large fly fishing communities with their own fly fishing culture. Anything I can do on the North of South America and southern Caribbean, just tell me, I'm watching GFF almost every week from the last eight or nine years, and hoping to be connected for 50 years more!

Congratulations!

And thank you for all that you gave to us all those years.

Carlos,

Just wanted to thank you for your very nice comment. You yourself along with hundreds - if not thousands - of other people help us make this site an exiting experience.

We may be the minds behind the scenes, but was it not for visitors like you, it wouldn't be half as much fun.

Thanks

Martin

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher has recently been updated to a new publishing system, and there may be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
