Cross between magnus and ice dub shrimp/reke

The forums are very quiet

The Global FlyFisher forum has existed for almost as long as the site, and the oldest posts are more than 20 years old. Forums aren't what they used to be. Social media has taken over a lot of their roles, and the GFF form is very quiet ... to put it mildly.
We keep everything online for the sake of history, and preserve the posts for as long as possible, but as you will see, quite a few of them aren't in a good shape, but rely on old images hosted elsewhere, which are no longer available, odd codes from old systems and much more, which can't be shown in a decent way.
But the posts are here, and you can - if you insist - start new threads. But don't stay awake waiting for replies, because they are unfortunately few and far apart.

I seem to be getting equal catch results with both a normal magnus (as this seems to be the better of the series) and a barbie pink ice dub shrimp.

Are there any patterns that combine a magnus with pink details. I thought I'd tie up some magnuses with a pink ice dub tail or a body of pink dubbing. Any other suggestions?

This maybe a desperate attempt to squeeze even more out of two very good patterns, but the quest for the perfect fly must continue

Hi Wiggy,

There is the Polar Magnus, who combines the 'classic' Magnus, with Ice dub body and pink hackle.

If can read Danish here is some suggestions how to make it

If you prefer it English you can see how to make it here

You can also choose to make an all pink Magnus, I have few in the box for really cold winterdays.

Cheers

Bo

Thanks for that Bo.

I've tried polar magnuses, and they don't work at all over here! Strange, but this is just my findings. The magnus with a pink ice dub tail worked wonders on it's first swim, so I'll be using this more!

The magnus with both ice dub body and tail didn't work at all. But at least I've found another great fly.

As regards language, I'm just fine with danish, though when it's spoken in broader accents, I have some problems understanding.

All pink magnus, now that's a thought!

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher has recently been updated to a new publishing system, and there may be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
