Final call

The forums are very quiet

The Global FlyFisher forum has existed for almost as long as the site, and the oldest posts are more than 20 years old. Forums aren't what they used to be. Social media has taken over a lot of their roles, and the GFF form is very quiet ... to put it mildly.
We keep everything online for the sake of history, and preserve the posts for as long as possible, but as you will see, quite a few of them aren't in a good shape, but rely on old images hosted elsewhere, which are no longer available, odd codes from old systems and much more, which can't be shown in a decent way.
But the posts are here, and you can - if you insist - start new threads. But don't stay awake waiting for replies, because they are unfortunately few and far apart.

Folks,

I will be leaving for a week's holiday next week, and when I return I will start setting up the final details regarding acommodation, meals etc.

That means that the deadline for signing up is closing in and that you who have already signed up need to confirm your participation. I have sent a mail out to the list of participants with the following questions:

1) Are you coming for certain?

2) Do you want to stay in the hostel during the weekend (two nights)?

3) Do you want your own room or to share a double room (for privacy and silence) at an extra cost?

Some of you have already answered these questions, but mail me your answer anyway, please.

Martin, greetings from Arkansas.

My name is Brandon Simmons and in 3 weeks my wife and I are moving to Eslov, Sweden. We are currently enrolled in Lund University for a 2 years masters program.
Fly fishing is my obsession and I am incredibly eager to meet your sea trout, salmon, etc.

I would very much like to participate in your gathering in Denmark and get to know you and your fishing buddies. Please let me know if you have availablility for 2 more.

My personal email is simmons dot brandon at gmail dot com

Any further details will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brandon Simmons

Brandon,

We have lots of room! There is no limit to the number of people attending (other than room at the hostel, which beds about a couple of hundre people...), so send me a mail, and I will add you to the list.

Penguin and I should try and convince you to hold GFF Summit 08 on Cape Cod in September. Stripers are a lot bigger and easier to catch than Sea Trout.

This time last year I was catching some fine trout and this year seems to be no different.
Just 2 hours in the salt gave 5 trout, all coloured but fat fighters.
Smallest 45 and largest 57cm.
Looks like I'm going to bag a few hundred before you lot arrive - again!!!!!

Ripley

Hi Ripley, good to see you are making sure the trout is in good shape, we don't want any sloppy ones this time either.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
See more details about what you can do to help in this blog post.

The Global FlyFisher has recently been updated to a new publishing system, and there may be a few glitches while the last bits get fixed. If you meet anything that doesn't work, please let me know.
