GFF Caps

Baseball-style caps with an embroidered GFF logo.

Anybody interested per This blog entry?

Many years ago in the late childhood or early adolescence of GFF, partner Steve Schweitzer had a batch of caps with an embroidered logo made up. The idea was to sell these caps on the site, and we even opened a small shopping system to handle the chore.

But you know what? Nobody bought our caps!

It wound up being an expense and most of the caps were given away to friends.

But lately I have been asked a few times about GFF caps, with clear indications that people want them, so I'm now trying to get some quotes on caps from local shops. The problem is that I have to buy at least 50 and I have to pay them up front. This will again mean expenses and since I'm not quite sure whether there is a genuine interest, I'm just trying this way of getting a show-of-hands for GFF caps.

Would you be interested in a GFF cap? My estimate is that they will wind up costing about 15-18 UD$ each plus postage. That will cover expenses and leave a bit of room for unsold goods.

This was the old model, but we're aiming at somthing like it

Shure!...

Hi Martin.

Although I always try to wear my old handed down sixpence, that I got from my granddad. I for one would be interested. Maybe its time to fill a new hat with luck, the old one seems to have reached its limit

Hi Martin.

Well the sixpences are highest fasion, didn't you know
I would vote for sexpences with fold-out ear-covers, since we are entering the cold season once again, and an optional LED light in the shade, so we can also use them in the summer nights.

Or maybe a simple cap is the best choice, anyway, where would you put the embroidering on a sixpence?

Colors?...

How about the GFF 10-gallon hat for the Colorado and Wyoming crew?

I've always been a baseball cap sort of guy.

However, let's talk color. I have a light tan hat that I swear scares fish because it's too bright and it's up high on my head so the fish can see it better. One age-old trick for spotting fish is to use a hat with a dark brim (or at least underside of the brim) because it cuts down on the light noise that your eyes receive.

cap manufacturers seem to cater more to people who like white, pink and orange than for the more "earthy" types like us anglers.

For now I just wanted an indication of interest. I will return with details and color(s) later.

Hi Martin,
You can count me in for at least one.
Take care

GFF Cap...

Yup, count me in for one at least - I feel as if I've qualified by being on the Summit.

Agree with comments on colour from various quarters, but then, Olive Green has always seemed a good choice for almost everything to me!

Les

Martin,
I really would be interested in the GFF sixpence hat like Jari wears, maybe with the hat I could throw some nice tight loops like he does.

So Martin what's going on with the caps???? :)

standing in a box on the floor in my bedroom, and never got any further with my plans to sell them on the site. Getting the payment here isn't that easy. PayPal surcharges like crazy for all transfers and makes life a mess if you're not drawing out your money in the US and I have failed to find alternatives. And work has been hell... and the weather... and the fishing... and... ;-) No, honestly: I have just been busy.

Will see what I can do and will consiider any suggestions and ideas from you people.

Martin

Fish,...

Fish,

Best way to get a cap is to come on the 2008 GFF Summit, and get it directly from the hand of the man himself!

See you there?
