Hi all,
last eastern I drove from Holland again to the Fyn area. I fished a copple of days in the Odense Fjord, using a sea kayak. What a great way to experience nature, the Fjord and the surrounding! And being mobile has its advantages! As you can see I caught this beauty of 74 cm. weighing 3,63 kilogram. I am very thankful to Keld Skytte Peterson from Bardeso, because he introduced me into the kayak stuff!
One sad thing to say: I hate al those floating walls of multifilament standing in the water.
I mean: those hundreds of meters with illegal nets. I felt so angry, that I would cut them with my knife (the nets  ). But people from the bank looking at you with binoculars...... not a good idea. It's a big shame.
Anyway: enjoy the picture. I will write an article about this way of fishing, that will be published in the Dutch magazine, called 'Beet' (meaning: Strike).
Hanzie,
Some fish! Fish in that size are few and far apart. The kayak is indeed a great way to get around and gives you some new opportunities.
I used to own one, but I sold it because I used it too rarely. I found that the "gear load" and the preparations were a bit too much and that I had to go to certain places where I could easily haul it to the water. And fishing alone meant that I had to lift it off and onto the car by myself. Even though it was a fairly light kayak, I found that cumbersome. But I really enjoyed the trips I had in it.
But I never caught a fish like yours from it. That might have convinced me to keep it! ;-)

That is indeed a nice fish.
I took one in February 2003 measuring a 82cm, at Stenderup Hage near to Kolding, which is my all time best. The good thing about it, I wasn't alone so the experience was a shared one! I needed the moral support to get it in - and on a class #5.
I have been told that it would be difficult to beat and I know it is a shot in a million billion (if thats a number).
And I say it to you Hans...Try, just try and beat that!!!
Remember...The memory will live on!
The largest one of my clients has taken is pictured below. Ron from the USA took 6 that day over 55cm! That was the largest. It was one of those days. Never repeated.
As for the illegal nets...I know.
I know Denmark does a great deal to stop it, but not enough. They will always be around as sure as death and taxes and so will pigs and the crap they produce and spray on the fields stinking up the country and polluting the waterways...But that's another story. One that is told now and then but no one gets to finish.
GREAT FISH HANS. Sorry I couldn't fish with you this time due to guiding. See ya soon eh?
