Step 1 - start the thread

Step 2 - select a large CDC feather

Step 3 - catch the feather with the tying thread

Step 4 - pull the feather to just catch the tip

Step 5 - tie down the feather

Step 6 - take the thread forwards followed by the feather

Step 7 - tie down the stem in the front of the fly

Step 8 - the feather is wrapped

Step 9 - cut the surplus stem

Step 10 - tie in the bead chain

Step 11 - cut the eyes

Step 12 - secure the eyes

Step 13 - wing foundation

Step 14 - deer hair

Step 15 - cut off deer hair

Step 16 - stack.

Step 17 - remove the hairs carefully by the tips

Step 18 - measure the length

Step 19 - cut butts

Step 20 - tie down deer hair

Step 21 - secure the hair

Step 22 - half hitch tool

Step 23 - wrap thread

Step 24 - push off thread

Step 25 - tighten

Step 26 - cut thread

Step 27 - varnish
