Galloup's Big Hole Bug

Kelly Galloup's Big Hole Bug is one of the best jig-style streamers around and got its name for its production on the Big Hole River. The heavy front hook coupled with the near weightless back hook makes it ideal for jigging, but the front is light enough where it can be effectively fished on a jerk-strip retrieve.

Back Hook: MFC 7050 #4
Body: Brown over Sunburst Yellow Marabou (3 Stacks)
Flash: 8-12 Strands of Copper Holographic Flashabou
Connection: 19 Strand (0.38mm) Beadalon/1 Bead
Front Hook: Daiichi 1550 #2 (or comparable)
Skirt: Brown over Sunburst Marabou
Body: Root Beer Cactus Chenille (Medium)
Legs: Pumpkin/Yellow/Orange (2 sets of 2)
Rib: Small Copper Wire
Eyes: Medium Yellow Dumbbell Eyes (Large for a more aggressive jig)
Hackle: Olive Brown Rooster Saddle

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
