One of the possible prizes of winter fishing for sea run brown trout: large colored fish, either kelts - fish which have been spawning and are regaining their condition in the cold water - or fish on their spawning run like this one. Undamaged fins, tail and abdomen in combination with color is a sign of a pre-spawn fish.
