Tearing off soles

To tear off the old soles you need to apply a bit of mild violence. They will mostly be cooperative. The soles on my Chota boots had originally been sown as well as glued, but the stitches were worn through and were pulled through the felt as I slowly worked off the soles with a set of heavy pliers.
