Alaska

A few years ago in Alaska at small creek/river off the Sasitna river system we camped our motor home for a few days, the river was full Chum, Pink and Silvers, they went crazy over pink and purple Dalai Lama flies, I went with light gear looking for browns (a local had told me there were some huge browns in this river) first cast a huge Silver swam right up to me as I was retrieving line and snapped me off and slowly swam away, so I quickly re-rigged had some 15lb leader and put on a purple Dalai Lama and the fun began, I caught 17 salmon some as big as 10 lbs, the fish in the photo was about 5lbs 30 inches, smaller than most but what a fighter and the most spectacular red and black markings he was absolutely beautiful by far the prettiest fish of the day.

Sorry about the sideways shot it was vertical in my computer came out sideways here, I also have a bunch more shots but they are all bigger the 3MB, I will figure out hoe the shrink them and post later.

Cheers Louis.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
