"Stick Bug" Tube Fly

This fly is prevalent in New York State, USA. It's call the "Stick Bug" because it looks like a stick. You have to look very closely to see that it has legs and actually moves. In the water it lays very still and once in a while the legs will move. I made this fly out of a very small thin plastic tube that is used as a liner in metal tubes so that I could get the thin natural body that it depicts. The tube is covered with brown thread and brown dubbing. The tail is made of brown hackle as well as the two feelers coming out of the head. The legs are brown rubber legs that move well in the water. It is a very unusual fly to say the least. The trout love them.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
