Change weight, not pattern
It's all in the drift.
If you had to choose 5 different flies or the same fly in 5 different weights, which option would it be?
Most of us will say 5 different flies, I presume, because we have to match the hatch and the easiest way to match the hatch is to offer 5 different flies?
Earlier I mentioned it is all in the DRIFT.
Pascal Cognard said to me, he would rather have the same fly in 5 different weights than 5 different flies.
Remember, 5 different flies all in the same weight, will all react the exact same way, but the same fly in 5 different weights will all drift differently and at different depths, and with the earlier tip of changing your position, you end up with so many different ways the same fly in different weights will end up drifting to the fish.
Tying the same nymph with different size beads in different materials will do the trick.
Since you got this far …
… I have a small favor to ask.
Long story short
Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.
Long story longer
The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
